If you like a little more fight in your fish, you won’t want to miss the catfish on Lake Marion. Reader’s Digest magazine named Lake Marion one of “America’s 100 Best” for fishing and specifically pointed to the lake’s catfish.

Clarendon County Recreation Department
J.C. Britton Park is the cornerstone of Clarendon County's park system. The 15-acre sports complex is a popular venue for hosting national, regional, state and local baseball and softball tournaments. Thousands of area folk flock to the park year round to enjoy its picnic shelters, playgrounds and athletic fields as well as the park's youth and adult programs. The park's walking and biking paths are also popular. Clarendon County is also home to two additional parks: Taw Caw Park in Summerton and Walker Gamble Park in New Zion. These parks feature additional softball and baseball fields for additional tournaments and the county's youth sports programs. The county's three parks feature covered shelters, playgrounds and restroom facilities which make them perfect for birthday parties, reunions, church socials and an afternoon of fun.
